If you would like to volunteer with Camp Arcadia’s 95th Anniversary Year celebration,

there are many ways that you can help.  We have split up the areas that need help into

five committees.  Below are descriptions of those committees.

I. Reunion Weekend
This committee is in charge of planning and helping to create a successful weekend.
We’ll need extra hands in the winter brainstorming ideas, reaching out to alumnae to
attend and preparing items for the weekend. We’ll need hands right before the
weekend to help set up the archives, organize registration, etc. We’ll need extra
hands during the weekend for fun things like centerpieces, planning and executing
Campfire & Sunday Meeting, registration, and much more.

II. Year-long celebration
Our 95th Anniversary should be celebrated all year. We need help reaching out to
campers, parents & other alumnae. Some of the work will be researching items to help
us celebrate. Some of the work will be helping with mailings & reaching out to people.

III. Fundraising
This committee has two parts: Scholarship Foundation and Alumnae Gift. The
fundraising for the Scholarship Foundation will help raise money for the endowment
and the annual fund. The Scholarship Foundation provides funds for campers to
attend Camp Arcadia. The fundraising for the Alumnae Gift is helping to determine
what the alumnae would like to give back to Arcadia in celebration of the 95th season
of camping. This committee will not only determine the gift but also reach out to the
alums for financial support for the gift. Should there be an alumnae lodge with
housing for alums and a museum of Arcadia history? Should there be two more
granite benches around camp? In the past Alums have given trees, granite steps &
benches. What should it be for the 95th?

IV. Communications
The communications committee will help our Arcadia community to be informed about
the anniversary year and the celebration on August 13 – 15th. It will also work to let
others know about the history and importance of Arcadia. If you have worked in
Public Relations we’d love your help.

V. Administrative
If you have a love for details we’d love your assistance both over the winter, just prior
to or during the reunion weekend.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

for Arcadia’s 95th Reunion Weekend

 

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

 

 

FRIDAY

·        help in the Playhouse with receiving and installing Alum displays (photos, banners, etc.)

·        help in Arts and Crafts with receiving and installing Alum artwork

·        greet and register alums in the Main Lodge

·        setting up the silent auction items/display

 

SATURDAY

·        lead the early morning yoga group

·        lead a watercolor workshop during open activity time

·        help with the Scholarship Foundation reception

·        organize and lead the games at campfire

·        serve as a song leader

 

SUNDAY

·        sing in the Alumnae/i Choir

·        help with compiling/creating materials for Sunday Meeting

·        assist in de-installation and return of materials from Playhouse and Arts and Crafts to Alums

 

GENERAL

·        contact friends about the weekend and encourage them to attend

·        buy raffle tickets for the Arcadia Campfire Quilt

·        check the Arcadia website for information on the weekend
