FAQ regarding Family Camp 2021

Updated 2.5.2021

What activities will be available?

Our 367 acres property provides ample space to provide numerous different activities safely. Our waterfront and tennis courts will be open daily. Equipment, such as boats, paddles, PFDs, tennis rackets, etc., will be checked out for each use and will be sanitized before the next use. In order to ensure everyone's safety, families can sign up for outdoor Arts & Crafts, Weaving, Archery, Camping skills (Campcraft), outdoor cooking and Horseback Riding.

We will have Adirondack chairs and picnic tables around camp for enjoying the out-of-doors on your own. Walks to the Villa, Stables, Arcadia Farm and the Beave Pond can be taken at any time.

What about fun games that we usually play?

Our Family Camp Director will be located in a tent near the Main Lodge. Soccer balls, badminton and ping-pong equipment, etc. maybe be checked out and returned there. All equipment will be checked out for each use and will be sanitized before the next use.

Will we be able to camp out overnight at the Villa or the Pioneer Camp?

Of course. We will provide the food and equipment for a fun outdoor overnight experience at either campsite. All equipment will be checked out and will be sanitized before the next use.

Will there still be Social Hour?  How will meals work?

Social hour and meals are an important part of the Family Camp experience, and we will adapt our dining to current Maine State Regulations. We will still hold Social Hour with socially distant gathering spots. Hot and Cold appetizers will be delivered to your family upon request at Main Lodge or to your cabin.

Meals in the dining room will be staggered with reserved seating for each group. Tables will be appropriately distanced and sanitized between uses. We are planning more outdoor meals than in the past. We have more picnic tables and other seating to accomodate this change. As always, we will also be happy to provide picnic baskets and lunches upon request.

Will we need to have a test prior to arriving at Arcadia?

Yes. Currently we are asking for groups to be tested 3 days prior to arriving at Arcadia. Our Family Camp Director will greet you upon your arrival. We ask that you remain in your car for check-in. We will take your temperature and ask you a few questions regarding your health.

What about showers?

Families will be assigned a shower for the week. Families may sign up for a shower time each day.

Will we have to wear masks?

We ask all those at Camp Arcadia to follow the current COVID-19 guidelines. Before your arrival, we will communicate the guidelines expected to be in place while you are at Arcadia.
